Bono and The Edge performed a very fitting song over the weekend at a temporary bomb shelter in Kyiv, Ukraine. Ultimate Classic Rock reports that the guys of U2 played The Ben E. King classic, ‘Stand By Me’ along with several songs in a 40 minute acoustic set in a subway. Music speaks to everyone, especially in times of trouble. It unites. Bono also posted this on Twitter:
President @ZelenskyyUa invited us to perform in Kyiv as a show of solidarity with the Ukrainian people and so that’s what we’ve come to do. — Bono and The Edge #StandWithUkraine
