DC Comics fans may need to carry some extra cash with them if they’re flying off to see “The Batman” this weekend.
AMC Theatres are planning to charge higher ticket prices for the Robert Pattinson anchored flick when it opens Friday, March 4.
Adam Aron, the CEO of AMC Entertainment, has confirmed that ticket prices for “The Batman” will cost more than those for other movies playing at AMC Theaters this weekend. This variable pricing initiative is all new to theaters in the U.S. but it’s been happening in Europe at AMC theaters for years!
A search of ticket prices at AMC Indianapolis 17 showed a standard digital Saturday morning showing of ‘The Batman’ was priced at $10.69, 70 cents higher than an equivalent screening of ‘Uncharted.’ For a Saturday evening show, ‘The Batman’ is $15.29, compared to $14.29 for ‘Uncharted.’ Hey those bat capes, and bat cars aren’t going to pay for themselves. But seriously, date night is gonna cost ya a whole lot more by the time you add on the buttered corn, candies, and drinks.
