OK, if I were to ask you the greatest moments in sports history…….what would you say?
Maybe the “Immaculate Reception” when Franco Harris caught that deflected pass against the Raiders and scored the winning touchdown……..Mary Lou Retton’s “Perfect 10” performances in the Olympics……The 1972 Dolphins going undefeated……How about closer to home? IU winning the National Championship in basketball in ’81? How about ’87? Then there’s always that moment of Peyton Manning raising the Lombardi Trophy after defeating the Chicago Bears in the Super Bowl…….
Lotta great moments….no doubt! But do you remember the “Miracle on Ice”? This week, back in 1980, when the United States hockey team, made up of amatuer athletes defeated the “UNBEATABLE” Russian Hockey squad 4-3! I totally remember where I was and what I was doing! I was in high school, and had to show up late to a basketball game at Lafayette Jefferson High School because I couldn’t pull myself away from the TV!
Do you remember? Well, “relive” that moment right now by checking out the video below: (VIDEO: YouTube/Ryan G)
