Chris Pratt is going to voice the lasagna-loving, Monday-hating comic strip feline Garfield, in a new animated movie
Garfield creator, Jim Davis, will serve as executive producer. The orange tabby cat first appeared in comic sections in 1978 and currently holds the record as the most widely syndicated comic strip in the world.
Using one of Garfield’s famous quotes Chris Pratt said to Bill Murray ,who voiced the GRUMPY cat in “Garfield : The Movie”, “Eat your heart out! Jokingly of course!
While Pratt has experience as a voiceover artist, many have pointed out that his previous characters are often high-energy goofballs, which doesn’t fit Garfield’s personal tone. Others are going to social media and poking fun at the fact that Pratt is seemingly voicing everyone following his recent casting as Mario in the animated Super Mario Bros.. film, which also sparked controversy. I’ve been a fan of Chris since Parks N Recreation and if he’s the new Ryan Seacrest in terms of cornering the market on all available jobs in Hollywood then so be it. “Eat Your Heart Out”. haters.
