Horror movies…..been watching them since the early 70’s. My Dad and I would stay up to watch “Sammy Terry” on Friday night, and then on Saturday it was “Son of Svengoolie” and “Creature Features”. I loved the classic Universal monsters, you know Frankenstein, the Wolfman, Dracula, and the Creature from the Black Lagoon. So, yes, I’ve seen a horror movie or two…..haha!
And today, this weekend, is the perfect time to share my Top 5 Horror Movies list because you and your significant other might want to “watch something spooky” and “get weird” this weekend, and I say “Go For It”!
Again, there are so many to choose from….so hard to narrow down…..but these 5 really stand out for me:
- Halloween: The ultimate movie for All Hallow’s Eve….Gotta admit, it had me looking over my shoulder for weeks and I always checked the back seat when I got in the car!
- The Exorcist: Absolutely terrifying! Ugh! Still won’t watch it in the house alone! No way! The devil made me do it.
- The Omen: Such a classic! Tells the story of the anti-christ and his rise to power…..History before it happens? Hmm?
- Carrie: Don’t get caught watching a remake! Go with the original version in 1976 with Sissy Spacek. Have fun at the prom!
- Black Sunday: This is an obscure one. 1960 film starring Barbara Steele as the witch, Asa Vajda. Great performance, and when they take off the mask with spikes…..ahhhhhhhh! Scared the “you know what” outta me!
