The original Woodstock was held in 1969. It was a music festival filled with legendary musicians, peace and love. Let’s not kid ourselves though, it was a party that involved heavy drug usage. But that paled in comparison to the anniversary Woodstock event held in 1999. A new documentary called, ‘Woodstock99: Peace, Love and Rage’ shows the very ugly side of the anniversary music festival. Intoxicated attendees acted like savage animals. Reminds you of some of the infamous “celebrations” that have taken place in certain cities after an sporting event championship game. Cars set on fire, people drunk acted like complete fools. Can’t imagine why other concert promoters are reluctant to hold similar events these days. ‘Woodstock 99: Peace, Love and Rage’ airs on HBO and HBO MAX on July 23rd.
