The Rock N Roll Hall Of Fame Class of 2021 will be announced Saturday October 30th, but if the Fan Vote is any indication of things to come, Tina Turner will be seated at that table. She currently leads that vote at 509,000+ votes, with Fela Kuti (a Nigerian multi-instrumentalist) coming in second with 482,000+ votes. What really surprised me is that The Go Gos are THIRD, well ahead of Dione Warwick (a legend) and Todd Rundgren who’s currently at 7th place! YOU can still cast your vote through May 7th by clicking here:
And before you get too excited about having a say in who makes it in this year, remember the Fan Vote only counts for ONE vote among the thousands of votes from the so called “music industry” leaders. That’s the biggest pile of dog squeeze I’ve ever heard! Any decent and humble musician will tell you they are NOTHING without the fans! And they’re 100% right! Take away the fans and you basically have some guys who are jamming on their back patio on a hot summer night. The Fan Vote should count for at least 25% of all the votes that matter. Like that will ever happen. It’s the RNR Hall Of Fame, what do you expect. Steve Miller, Jon Bon Jovi and a large list of others agree that the Hall needs FIXED!
