Of all the Beatles memoriabilia I’ve heard of, THIS is one of the more interesting pieces because of the backstory. In the late 50’s, Paul and George Harrison took a hiking trip. They end up making friends with a family in Wales and stayed with them. The pair would eventually return later for another visit, and that particular time, Paul took a blanket from the family. Come on Paul, it wasn’t a hotel! Well years later in the 80’s after The Beatles became famous, that family reached out to Paul asking where the blanket was! Paul would write the letter below, sending it and a check for about $40 to cover it. And now the letter will be sold at auction, taking bids over $8,000! But here’s the question: WHERE’S THE BLANKET, PAUL?! He didn’t return it and most likely doesn’t have it any longer. BUT, if he did, imagine how cool if he were to provide the blanket to the auction house and they sold it along with the letter, giving all proceeds to charity. Long shot, I know.
