Wolfgang Van Halen Was Invited To Play At The Grammys, But Here’s Why He Said No…

We’re now learning that Wolf WAS invited to perform ‘Eruption’ at last weekend’s Grammy awards, but he wanted no part of that. He explained in the twitter post below: “I don’t think anyone could have lived up to what my father did for music but himself”. Totally get it, but I’m a little surprised he didn’t offer to perform his song he created for his late father called, ‘Distance‘ at the show. It’s an incredible song that would have done Eddie proud. Either way, producers of The Grammy’s screwed up only remembering Eddie Van Halen for mere seconds during the ‘In Memoriam’ portion of the program. The Rock genre has continued to get slighted every year. Let’s face it, the folks behind the Grammys think they have to reach a younger audience, and they think the only way to that is with Pop or Rap. Totally wrong. Research shows that the Rock genre is still very much alive and especially with young people. Wolf has offered to work with producers of The Grammys to help repair the diss that Rock has suffered. Your move Grammys.
