We all had a good laugh with the Bernie Sanders memes from the Inauguration… even Sanders did, but he didn’t just stop to laugh. He turned it into a charitable endeavor. He added some commemorative shirts and a sweatshirt to his online store with a note that 100% of the profits made would go to charities in his home state of Vermont like Feeding Chittenden, Chill Foundation, and Vermont community action centers.
And they are currently SOLD OUT… even after a restock! According to NBC News, they raised $1.8 million for the charities.
“Getty Images will donate its proceeds as part of the licensing agreement to put the photo on T-shirts, sweatshirts and stickers to Meals on Wheels of America, Sanders’ office said.”
