First snow of the year. Yuck! Caused LOTS of accidents on the inbound commute yesterday. I shoveled our driveway and sidewalk and hurried back inside to get warm. But later that afternoon, my 4 year old asked if we could go outside to play in the snow. I thought to myself, “can’t we just stay inside?”. But then I realized there was a memory to be made here. I can remember the excitement of building a snowman and having a snowball fight with my family when I was a kid. We built our somewhat vertically challenged ‘Frosty’ in our front yard. Since we couldn’t find buttons for his eyes, we used two toy balls and red M&Ms for the eyes. Carrot, scarf and hat were all appropriately placed, and there he was! Even a couple of the neighbor kids came over to join in the fun. In the midst of a horrible pandemic, we were able to escape for a moment and enjoy the simplicity of life. For a moment, I was a kid again. And to enjoy that with my son, was priceless~
