Ultimate Classic Rock shared part of an interview band member Steve Ferrone and Mike Campbell did with Rolling Stone magazine recently. The guys opened up about the difficulties Petty had, taking OxyContin to deal with the pain and still pressing on to do a live show. Even dealing with a cracked hip, Petty refused to stop and continued performing for fans. Kinda breaks your heart to hear this, knowing that he was putting the tour before what was best for his health. Even his band members have said they would have gladly postponed the tour.
