‘Texas Chainsaw Massacre’ Sequel Is Happening…Check Out Their First Poster

Fans of this horror classic are in for some scary good news. A sequel for ‘Texas Chainsaw Massacre’ is in the works according to their director David Blue Garcia. People magazine reports that the film started shooting this summer in Bulgaria. Even though this will be the 9th film in the series, I have high hopes, especially based upon the first movie poster they just released. The original is still one of the memorable, and even the remake with Jessica Biel in 2003 is a fan favorite. Not easy to keep telling this story, but there’s just something about this story, loosely based upon a real life murderer, that keeps fans wanting more!

In early August I was about to go for a run in the Texas heat when Legendary Pictures called. “Are you sitting down? We need a Director to take over Texas Chainsaw Massacre.” That was a Thursday afternoon. After a whirlwind of calls and zoom meetings with all sorts of producers I was approved and on a plane to Sofia, Bulgaria that same Sunday. A week later we started shooting. I was also lucky enough to bring @rickdiazdp along for the ride as the Dp. It was great to have another Texan, #rgv native, and LatinX filmmaker on board to help bring this latest iteration of TCM to life. Shoutout to @inclusionmgmt and @vervetla and a HUGE thanks to @legendary and @iamfedealvarez and @shinshimosawa who took a chance and gave us the opportunity of lifetime. #texaschainsawmassacre #horrormovies #horrorposter
