Indiana Bans Restaurant Chain From Opening More Locations

Over the past couple of years, the burger chain BurgerIM has exploded, opening hundreds of new locations in various cities.

But, it looks like they won’t be able to open any more in Indiana. The state just banned the company from franchising any new restaurants here.

There is currently a BurgerIM in Carmel, but the owners say they’ve experienced issues. They told CBS 4 they’ve basically been on their own since opening as corporate hasn’t been responsive. They are even considering changing their name.

Previously there was a location on 96th Street, but according to Yelp! it is permanently closed.

After spending about $70,000 to open a restaurant at South State Road 315, an Indiana man hasn’t been able to get a hold of anyone at the company. He did a little research and found that other owners were having the same issues.

In fact, a senator called for an investigation of BugerIM earlier this year. The owner currently has at least 13 lawsuits against him.
