The last surviving actor of the 60\’s sitcom \”GREEN ACRES\” has passed away. Tom Lester, who played the wisecracking farmhand, Eb Dawson,died at 81, from Parkinson\’s Disease according to his brother.
Lester was a chemist who taught in Oklahoma for a few years before making the move to Hollywood. He says he landed the role on \”Green Acres\” beating out the competition because he was the only actor who could actually milk a cow! Talk about skills..wow! R.I.P. Eb everyone\’s favorite farm hand!
\”Green Acres is the place to be..farm living is the life for me\” those lyrics from the theme song were some of the best from one of Hollywood\’s great composers, Vic Mizzi.
