“Parasite” Makes Oscar History And It’s A First For Elton John and Bernie Taupin

Parasite” was the breakout star of this year’s Oscars becoming the FIRST non-English movie to win best picture.  The suspenseful South Korean film, also won the Oscar for best international film, original screenplay and best director.  If you’re like me the Oscar’s are like the  “Super Bowl” of movies and we’re always looking for an MVP. “Parasite” was surprisingly the academy and fan favorite for once!

The four biggies in the acting categories were as predicted with Joaquin Phoenix and Renee Zellweger picking up Oscars for best actor and actress and Brad Pitt and Laura Dern winning the supporting actor and actress categories.

For the second year in a row, there were random celebs introducing other celebrity presenters. Sometimes awkward. However there were still some BIG moments on stage:
Laura Dern gives a heartfelt speech and thanks her heroes her legendary parents actors Bruce Dern and Diane Ladd.  And her mom was her date!
Brad Pitt keeps his speech at :45 seconds and manages to be humorous, grateful
and appreciate of his ride to his first acting Oscar.
Elton John and Bernie Taupin Win Oscar for the first time in 53 years!
Overall, I give the 2020 Oscars a 3 out of 4 popcorn for bringing some diversity with the winners and making us feel something which is what any good movie should do!
