Get ready for even colder weather. You know it’s bad when even colleges are canceling class.
If you are super attached to your car or you know you’ll be traveling in subzero temps, here are some tips to prepare your vehicle:
- FILL UP YOUR GAS TANK – not only will you be better prepared in a bad situation on the road, there won’t be room in your tank for condensation to build up (you don’t want water in your fuel lines that might freeze up).
- KEEP AN EXTRA COAT OR BLANKET IN YOUR CAR – maybe you get stuck and your heat gives out, boom… blanket!
- PACK SOME KITTY LITTER OR ROCK SALT – you can use it to spread near your tires to gain traction in impossible situations (if you drive a lighter weight vehicle, it serves as helpful extra pounds!)
- GET YOU SOME JUMPER CABLES OR A JUMP PACK – not only is this great for all seasons just in case, sometimes it gets SO cold that your battery can’t handle it and that car ain’t gonna start without a boost.
- KEEP MULTIPLE ICE SCRAPERS – because what else are you gonna use when you break the first one in a freezing rage (thanks, Indiana)
