Live Christmas trees are beautiful, but they can be dangerous. Watch this incredible video that shows a side by side comparison of two live Christmas trees. One is DRY the other is WATERED. In just 6 seconds, the DRY tree ignites and destroys the room! Make sure you water your live tree everyday during the Christmas season. And here are a few other important tips:
1. Keep your tree at least 3 feet away from all heat sources: radiators, fireplaces or heating vents.
2. Check your Christmas tree lights to be certain that none of the wires are damaged or frayed. Never leave the lights on your tree lit at night or when you’re not at home.
3. Don’t plug too many strands of lights into the same outlet.
4. Realize that a live Christmas tree has a short life. Needles will start falling off, but as you notice a lot of them falling off, that means the tree is drying up, and watering it more won’t help. Be safe and remove the tree from your home at this point to avoid a possible fire.
