Let’s take a trip back in time now…see if you can remember these icon places in Indianapolis from the 70s and 80s…
Al Green’s Drive-In
Who remembers picking up the phone and getting great curb side service here?

The TeePee at 38th and Fall Creek
A historic building located at Indianapolis, Indiana. It was built in 1939, and consisted of a central stuccoed teepee shaped section with identical flanking wings. A cantilevered canopy extended around the building. Additions were made to the wings in 1952. It has been demolished.
It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986 and de-listed in 1989. (Wikipedia)
Market Square Arena
If the walls at Market Square Arena could have talked! WOW! Elvis played his last show there…and how many countless music acts performed concerts there. I have childhood memories of going to MSA to see the Icecapades, and later taking in Pacers games with my family. Sadly it was torn down, but with those killer steep stairs, probably for the best.

RCA Dome
Had to make a home for our Indianapolis Colts, and back in 1984, with over 56,000 seats. Proving that bigger is better, it was later demolished in 2008.

What most know today as Hardees, back in the 70s who remembers enjoying a burger and fries at Burger Chef?
