One year ago today, I got up, and came to work. In the back of my mind though I knew today was the day my wife and I would finally meet our son. It was a rush of nerves and excitement. All the advice from family and friends…the lamaze classes…Jenni going through the pains of pregnancy…it was all about to get REAL! I got a text around 6:00 from her saying that the baby was kicking BIG TIME, but not to come home yet. I continued broadcasting the Morning Show, my mind clearly preoccupied with the check list of what to take to the hospital and oh yea, I WAS ABOUT TO BECOME A FATHER!! Five minutes later my phone vibrates, it was a text from Jenni that simply read: it’s time. Steve Stuart was on standby and came in to take over, while I rushed home.
Reed Cayetano Browning was born at 5:18 p.m. And with much waiting on that day and fanfare leading up to, when Reed actually came into this world, I broke down in tears with an amazing rush of emotions I have never experienced before.
Here he is today: Mr Giggles and a true ball of energy! Reed is a very happy baby (most days) and is not a picky eater. I’ve never seen a toddler eat so many green beans! I give my wife a TON of credit…she is a phenomenal mother and has sacrificed so much for our son. And even though Reed had trouble sleeping last night (I’m working on 4 hours of sleep!) I thank God everyday for blessing us with this beautiful child~
