An upscale Italian eatery called Caruso’s out of North Carolina has had enough with the screaming kids who ruin the experience for other patrons. The kids are no longer welcome. Now you can imagine the hissy fit that some parents are throwing over this announcement, but as a new parent myself, I applaud Caruso’s! They are an UPSCALE restaurant, so I’m guessing you’re probably dropping $100 or more on a dinner for two. The last thing you want to hear during a date night out is SCREAMING little nose miners! Kids are gonna be kids, so let them scream and act up, but do it at McDonalds in their play area, or similar establishments. To the parents who are upset with Caruso’s: you’re being selfish. It’s not just about you and your family. There are other paying customers who want to eat their meal in peace.
My wife Jenni and I took our 11 month old son to Some Guys Pizza recently and halfway through the meal, Reed started throwing a fit. We tried to calm him and distract him with toys and a kids video on our phone, but he wasn’t having it! So instead of making the other customers suffer through Reed’s tantrum, we asked our server to box up our food (we were only halfway through the meal) and get us the check. Reed is a baby, so it’s a BIG gamble taking him out in public. We would never think of going to a fancy eatery in Central Indiana with our. And I don’t expect them to cater to families with children.
