Rolling Stone magazine recently came up with their of the “50 Best Stand-Up Comics Of All Time”. Not too surprised with the top 5, but some say the comic at #8 doesn’t belong on this list because of the shame he has brought to his name. Actually, several of these names have dark moments in their careers, so when do you just recognize the comedian for his/her “talents” and not what the headlines say about them? And I’m really surprised that Jerry Seinfeld didn’t make the top 5. The guy is a comic giant!…having a successful career on the road for yeas (and still performs) and of course one of the funniest and most watched sitcoms in history. Rolling Stones made their list based upon the following: “artistic merit, technical proficiency, sense of timing, quality of their written material, their delivery, and degree of influence.”
