Jim Henson Considered Other Rock Stars For Labyrinth Movie Role

I can’t imagine anyone other than David Bowie playing the Goblin King in Labyrinth. But apparently director Jim Henson had a few other rock stars in mind, including Freddie Mercury, Michael Jackson, Rod Stewart, David Lee Roth, Mick Jagger and a few others. Bowie had sex appeal and that cool British look and charm. David Lee Roth might have been a bit too goofy. As the movie celebrates it’s 30th anniversary this year, a new book will be out in October, titled, Labyrinth The Ultimate Visual History.
