Let me start by saying I think Axl Rose is incredibly talented. Have always been a fan. Love his voice. But, with his recent announcement to fans that he will no longer be signing autographs, I loathe him. What a baby! Axl’s reasoning is that some fans will attempt to cash in on his autograph by selling whatever item on ebay. Is he really that hard up for money that he hates the thought of a FAN making a few bucks off his name?! Here’s the solution: Years ago, I did a recording session with then Indiana Pacers basketball player Jermaine ONeal. Nice guy. I brought along a basketball that day in hopes that he wouldn’t mind signing it for my dad. I asked Jermaine, “Would you mind signing this for my dad, he’s a big fan of yours”. Jermaine replied, “Sure, what’s your dad’s name?”. Jermaine knew that if he personalized the autographed item, it would be worth far less, than if it was just his autograph on the ball. Axl could do the same thing…but that would require him to use his brain and not his over inflated ego!
