Indiana laid to rest a fallen officer this week. A hero. Deputy Carl Koontz. Parts of the funeral procession were captured with a drone and used for a powerful memorial video, created by IMPD Officer Ron Shellnut. He dedicated it to Koontz’s 8 month old son, Noah. Shellnut wrote:
“I was at your Dad’s funeral. I never met your father, but from what I saw and heard on this day, he was loved and admired by many. I was ask(ed) by the Indiana State Police to come and film your fathers services. They will make their own video for your family and the public. I made this video for you, knowing that you will not remember this day. I hope, in some small way, when you are older this video helps you see what happened. Police officers and deputies from around the country came to see your father and to honor him. Citizens of Howard County and from all around Indiana came out to show respect and to say thank you to your Dad. I hope to meet you some day and tell you what I saw.”
