Throughout this journey of becoming parents, Jenni and I have received A LOT of advice! Some very helpful and some…well, a little nutty! Not surprised with my Motley Crew of friends. Both of our mothers have shared baby tips that worked for them in raising us.

WJJK’s parent company is Cumulus Media. Recently, our CEO, Mary Berner came through the Midwest visiting many of our stations. This was my first time meeting Mary and I was really inspired with what she had to say to our radio group. She’s very positive and a great listener to what we had to say. So I asked her if she would share any baby tips with me and Jenni (more for me actually!).  Here’s what she had to say…

One friend of mine who is a parent and now a grandparent said to not listen to anyone, and to quote a line from Fleetwood Mac, ‘go your own way’. I think our child is in a world of trouble if we leave the child rearing up to just ME! Let’s face it, most dads are just ‘big kids’. Thankfully my wife is very nurturing and will most likely be the level headed one of the two of us. As much as I appreciated my friend’s advice of ignoring everyone’s two cents, I actually have enjoyed getting different view points on raising a child from family, friends and even total strangers! I’d love to hear from you. If you’re a parent, give me a good baby tip. Even if you aren’t a parent, share something that your parents did in raising you. I’ve heard some pretty funny stories from listeners who have called in during the Morning Show! We survived our childhood, and I’m sure Baby Browning will do just fine too.
