Last week Bruce Springsteen performed a concert in Los Angeles. Towards the front he spotted a sign that read, “Bruce, I will be late to school tomorrow.  Please sign my note”. It was a 9 year old fan named Xabi Glovsky.  Bruce’s show was three-and-a-half hours, and it was a school night. Bruce noticed the sign, and had security invite them backstage after the show.  Xabi’s dad says, quote, “Although there were many [other] musicians and celebrities at the concert, we were the FIRST people to see him after the show.  Bruce said ‘There’s the big guy’ to my son.”  He grabbed a pen and paper, and wrote a note to the kid’s teacher.  It said, quote, “Dear Ms. Jackson, Xabi has been out very late rocking and rolling.  Please excuse him if he is tardy.”  And he also signed it.
