Paris Terrorist Attack
November 13th, 130 people died at the hands of terrorist group, ISIS. A concert hall, restaurant and cafes were the target of the attacks that left people seeking cover. The attacks were the deadliest in France since World War II.
Bill Cosby
Famed comedian is accused of sexual assault by multiple women. Cosby was arraigned on Wednesday December 30th, accused of drugging and sexually assaulting Andrea Constand.
Law Enforcement/Riots
Riots and protests took place across the US as some criticized the police of brutality in multiple cases, such as Freddie Gray in Baltimore, Maryland.
Caitlyn Jenner
Former Olympian with ties to one of the most famous Reality TV families, The Kardashians, Bruce Jenner surprised many with the announcement that he “for all intents and purposes, is a woman”.
David Letterman Retires
For 33 years, the Hoosier TV host made Late Nights more enjoyable with ‘Stupid Pet Tricks” and his famous Top 10 lists.
Jared Fogle
The one time Subway pitchman brought great shame to his family when authorities announced they had been investigating him on charges of child pornography, which he eventually pled guilty to, and later charges of crossing state lines to pay for sex with minors were added. Fogle is serving more than 15 years in prison.
Donald Trump
Known best for his popular catchphrase, “You’re fired”, business tycoon and reality TV star Donald Trump announced he is running for US President.
Same Sex Marriage
The Supreme Court made a historic ruling in June, making it legal for same sex couples to be married in the United States. “No union is more profound than marriage, for it embodies the highest ideals of love, fidelity, devotion, sacrifice and family,” Justice Kennedy wrote. “In forming a marital union, two people become something greater than they once were.”
