Most of us take for granted being able to spend time with our family when we celebrate our birthday. But for an 18 year old Colorado girl named Natalie, it’s not that easy. She’s taken out a Craigslist ad looking to ‘rent’ a family next month to help her enjoy her birthday. It’s legit, not some scam…I know, with some of the craziness on Craigslist, I raised an eyebrow over this story too. But the more I read about Natalie, the more my heart went out to her. I’ve emailed her, to let her know how brave I think she is, and to get her address so that I can at the very least, send her a birthday card. Do I know her? No, but that doesn’t stop us from being human beings who can honestly care about someone they’ve never met. I can’t imagine the loneliness Natalie has experienced. But as you’ll discover in this story, she’s not doing this for money or gifts. She just wants to be loved by a family. When you think about it, we’re a part of her ‘human race’ family, right~
