One of the great Soul singers has died. Ben E. King, best known for “Stand By Me” and “Spanish Harlem” was just 76, when he passed last Thursday. Apparently he had been dealing with a brief illness. Fans will remember Ben from his days with The Drifters as well. Even though he found fame in the 50s and 60s, a new generation fell in love with his voice when his song “Stand By Me” was featured in the movie “Stand By Me”. Thank you Mr. King for your soulful sounds and for being a part of Americana entertainment.
