…Imagine if John Lennon wrote you a letter, but it didn’t arrive until 30+ years later! That was the case for Steve Tilston, a musician who was starting to make a name for himself back in the early 70s. In an interview in 1971, Tilston opened up about his insecurities with fame and the pressure. John Lennon supposedly read the article and wrote a letter to Tilston offering some guidance, even giving him his PHONE NUMBER! But as fate would have it, the letter was lost in the mail. Then in 2005, a collector discovered the letter and tracked Tilston down.
A movie has been made about Tilston and the infamous letter from Lennon. It’s called ‘Danny Collins’, with a very impressive cast including Al Pacino, Annette Benning, Jennifer Garner, Julianne Moore and Bobby Cannavale. Check out the trailer here:
