…Inviting you to a lecture might bring back bad memories of high school or your college days. But what if I told you the speaker would be Eddie Van Halen? Yea, that changes things a bit. Eddie will take part in a series through the Arizona State University’s Zocalo Public Square, titled, “What It Means to Be American”. He’ll discuss his life as one of the most successful musicians in America, music in general and life. And apparently quite a people want to hear what the Van Halen great has to say, because the talk is already sold out. It takes place February 12th at the Smithsonian National Museum of American History in Washington D.C.
The good news for those that didn’t get a ticket in time: Eddie’s talk will also be broadcast on February 13th. Click here for more details: http://www.whatitmeanstobeamerican.org/
Pretty cool still, will be a donated master-built replica of Eddie’s late 1970s era guitar, thanks to Fender and Van Halen. Eddie will also bring along a few other axes to help demonstrate how technology has changed music.
