As I was decorating my home for Halloween this past weekend, a neighbor was walking by. She stopped and surveyed my makeshift graveyard, complete with skeletons, bones, tombstones and other ghoulish surprises for the kids. I didn’t recognize her, but assumed she was just enjoying the creativity that I put out on the front yard each October. “It’s a little much isn’t it?” she said. I asked what she meant. “It’s a little scary for the smaller children, don’t ya think?’ she explained. In my most condescending tone I replied in a slight whisper, “It’s not real”. She shrugged and said, “Do you really want to scare neighbor kids?!” she said, now appearing annoyed with me. I smiled and replied, “Yes, I do”. She shook her head and walked away. IT’S HALLOWEEN!!! IT’S SUPPOSE TO BE SCARY!!!  AND IT’S ALL MAKE BELIEVE!
